INTRODUCTION
This workshop is designed for those interested in doing basic water testing as part of the implementation, monitoring or evaluation of water quality for various purposes. This will offers instruction on basic water testing for physical, chemical and biological contamination. Other topics to be addressed include information on physical, chemical and biological properties of water, water quality guidelines, testing protocol, analysis of data and preparation of water quality assessment plan. The broader objective of this training module is to transfer knowledge and skills for participants independently to carry out different water quality tests. Environmental water samples collected for monitoring and compliance purposes must be collected using defined protocols to obtain reliable and defensible data of high quality. This workshop is recommended for environmental officers and consultants, engineers, laboratory technicians and analysts, laboratory directors, and water system operators.
